🏁 Edelbrock Sick Smokies 2025: Drag & Drive Recap
There’s no better way to wrap up racing season than with the roar of engines echoing through the Smoky Mountains. The Sick Smokies Drag and Drive brought together some of the toughest street/strip machines in the South — and once again, Chris Fecher and his Mustang were up for the challenge. From Alabama to Tennessee to Georgia and back again, Chris pushed through long road miles, unpredictable weather, and plenty of late-night tuning to finish strong with an average ET of 6.775 seconds at 111.05 mph over five tracks.

🔧 Race Breakdown
📍 Harvest, Alabama (Day 1)
ET: 6.4107
MPH: 116.160
Chris kicked off the event with his best pass of the week — a clean 6.41 @ 116 mph that set the tone for the days ahead. The car hooked hard, stayed straight, and showed that the months of prep work were paying off.
✨📢Racing at Edelbrock Sick Smokies 2025 Day 2 at Music City Raceway (Goodlettsville, TN) was disrupted. According to a write-up by Sick The Magazine:
A competitor in the “Organ Grinder” 1930 Model A hooked hard to the right during a big wheelie, struck the Christmas Tree stand and damaged the wiring of the timing system. Sick The Magazine+1
Because the timing system was out of commission and could not be repaired in-time, the organizers shifted to flag-starts for the remainder of the day. Sick The Magazine
As a result, the day’s runs did not count toward the overall average for the event, and the contest was changed from six race-days to five. Sick The Magazine
📍 Crossville, Tennessee (Day 2)
ET: 6.4858
MPH: 116.010
Crossville brought slightly different track conditions, but Chris stayed consistent, laying down another mid-6 pass right out of the gate.
📍 Maynardville, Tennessee (Day 3)
ET: 7.1590 MPH: 102.990
📍 Ringgold, Georgia (Day 4)
ET: 7.1590
MPH: 102.990
A tough track day in Ringgold tested both driver and machine. Even with a slower pass, the Mustang held together beautifully, proving its endurance over performance perfection.
📍 Harvest, Alabama (Final Day)
ET: 7.0918
MPH: 104.940
Back where it all started, Chris wrapped the event with a clean final pass and a well-earned finish line moment.
🏆 The Numbers Don’t Lie
Average ET: 6.77506 seconds
Average MPH: 111.0508 mph
Those averages reflect more than just performance — they tell the story of consistency, resilience, and horsepower with heart.
🚗 Final Thoughts
From sunrise track calls to late-night drives through winding mountain roads, the Sick Smokies Drag and Drive was another unforgettable chapter in Chris’s racing journey. Every track brought its own challenge, and every pass proved why we love this sport — it’s not just about how fast you go once, but how well you endure through it all.
